Bagi yang sudah biasa otak-atik server, vps ato dedicated server pasti sudah kenal cara membuat nameserver sendiri di registrar mereka. Namun bagi yang belum biasa memanage server sendiri, membuat nameserver sendiri bisa jadi pengalaman seru. Kamu bisa set nameserver kamu sendiri, misal: ns1.namadomainkamu.com << terlihat lebih baik daripada ns1.dreamhost.com kan?

Berikut caranya (ane ambil dari helpnya godaddy):

1. Log in to your Account Manager.
2. In the My Products section, click Domains.
3. Click the domain for which you want to create a host.
4. In the Host Summary section, click the add hyperlink in the header.
5. In the Host name field, enter the host name you want to register.

NOTE: Do not enter “www” as part of your host name.
6. In the Host IP fields, enter the IP address(es) you want to add to the host.
7. Click OK.

kalau yang ini untuk yang name.com

1. Log into your Name.com account.

2. Click on the 'Account' icon at the top of your page.

3. At your 'Account' page, click on the domain name you wish to modify.

4. Be sure that your domain is unlocked; to unlock, click on the padlock icon.

5. On the 'Domain Management' screen, click 'Manage Name Servers' in the 'Control Panel' on the right side of your screen.

6. Enter the prefix (e.g. ns1) in the 'Host Name' field.

7. Now enter the corresponding IP address.

8. Click 'Register'.



kalo ini untuk namecheap (lebih simple)
1. Login to your account
2. Click on Manage Domains and choose the domain
3. Click on Nameserver Registration in the left side menu to create your nameserver

Perlu diingat bahwa perubahan tak langsung bisa dirasakan karena ada yang namanya delay propagasi. Bagi yang beruntung bisa langsung menyantap nameserver mereka yang baru.. bagii yang kurang beruntung... tunggu max 2 hari :D.
